In early 2016, a failed relationship sent me down a rabbit hole of self-destructive behaviour, alcohol abuse and endless nights in the most run-down dive bars I could find. Places that would, in some way, mirror what I felt during that time. I met many lost souls in the year that followed, kindred spirits that shared their drinks, their smokes and their thoughts. People that were just as lost as I was. I felt compelled to record these experiences - to get some closure at least. _self medication_ is the result of this healing process.
